High Tide Inc., a prominent player in the cannabis retail industry, has expressed strong support for President Donald Trump's executive order directing federal agencies to consider rescheduling cannabis from a Schedule I to a Schedule III substance. This move has sparked discussions among cannabis businesses, with High Tide viewing it as a significant step towards federal cannabis reform in the United States

The Canadian company, which operates over 218 Canna Cabana retail locations, primarily in Canada, sees potential opportunities arising from this executive order. Raj Grover, Founder and CEO of High Tide, emphasized the importance of this development, noting that while rescheduling does not equate to full legalization, it signals bipartisan momentum towards more rational cannabis and CBD policies. Grover highlighted the potential for Medicare reimbursements for CBD products as a noteworthy advancement

High Tide is strategically positioning itself to capitalize on these changes, especially in the hemp-derived CBD sector. The company is developing Medicare-aligned product categories through its U.S. CBD brands, NuLeaf Naturals and FAB CBD, aiming to include these within Medicare Advantage supplemental benefits. Furthermore, High Tide is exploring ways to expand its Canna Cabana brand into the U.S. market through licensing, while maintaining compliance with its NASDAQ and TSXV listings

In addition to its U.S. ambitions, High Tide is also expanding internationally, having opened its first European Canna Cabana location in Berlin, Germany. This expansion follows the acquisition of Remexian Pharma GmbH, a licensed medical cannabis importer and distributor. With Germany being Europe's largest cannabis market, High Tide is poised to leverage this opportunity to further its global retail strategy
